Abstract

This booklet provides information on the processes and risks of the dynamic Great Lakes coastal environment, advice on protection of coastal investments, and the environmental impacts of shore protection structures. The document is intended as a practical resource for a general audience of anyone interested in Great Lakes coastal property in the U.S. and Canada, including owners, prospective buyers, realtors, bankers, insurers, appraisers, regulators, developers, engineers, marine contractors or any other professionals with an influence on coastal development. It replaces the earlier "Help Yourself" booklet (1978).
